Select England team to take part in World Lacrosse Super Sixes

World Lacrosse Super Sixes tournament taking place 7-9 October 2022

England Lacrosse is excited to announce a select England team will take part in the second annual World Lacrosse Super Sixes competition in Canada next month.

The competition, which featured Canada, USA, and the Haudenosaunee Confederacy last year, will take place in Oshawa, Ontario from 7-9 October.

Including players from the senior women’s, under-23, and National Academy set-ups, the select England team, that is yet to be announced, will travel to Canada on 5 October in preparation for the tournament that will see England take on Canada and the Haudenosaunee Confederacy.

The tournament will include a double round-robin with six games in total across the three days before the top two teams face off in a final for the title on Sunday 9 October.

Every game at the World Lacrosse Super Sixes is scheduled to be broadcast for free internationally, with streaming information coming before the start of the event next week and admission throughout the weekend will be free to all spectators.

World Lacrosse CEO Jim Scherr said:

“The launch of World Lacrosse Sixes in 2021 was extremely successful for our sport, and this event in Canada will keep that momentum going after an already strong 2022.

“The new discipline’s speed, skill and broad appeal have allowed it to grow, and after we saw those positives on a global stage at The World Games, I am excited for World Lacrosse Sixes tournaments to continue to feature our top athletes, starting in Canada next week.”

The tournament is part of a week-long celebration of sixes lacrosse to mark the end of a successful summer for Canada who won both the men’s and women’s gold medals at The World Games 2022 in Birmingham, Alabama, that saw a massive 16 teams take part across the tournament.
