Southern Box Lacrosse (SBL) has launched its brand new Winter Box League due to start in December this year.
The League is the first of its kind in England and will take place over four game days throughout December and January, featuring four teams with players selected through a draft.
The 3G Dome at Oxford Academy that has played host to many SBL and England box events throughout the years will be the home of the Winter Box League that starts on Sunday 11 December.
Subsequent League fixtures will take place on Sunday 18 December, Sunday 8 January, and Sunday 15 January with fixtures starting at 1pm and finishing at 5pm on each of those days.
The Winter Box League is all part of SBL’s push for more box lacrosse throughout England in the wake of the England box lacrosse team becoming European Champions in the summer and comes after the inaugural and hugely successful Box Fest earlier this month.
Applications are already open to be a team coach or team manager at the Winter Box League and you have until Sunday 16 October to put your name in the hat; more details about applications can be found HERE.
It is anticipated SBL will open player applications in early October with the draft taking place later in the month.
In addition to the new League, SBL is also hosting more women’s and general box sessions with more details of those sessions coming soon.
