England White will take on Italy and England Red will play Netherlands in their opening group-stage fixtures in the women’s competition at the 2023 Euro Lax Sixes Cup after the full schedule was announced over the weekend.

The tournament, which is in its second year, is hosted in Portugal at the Vila Real de Santo Antonio, Algarve across 24, 25, and 26 February and will feature two England women’s teams.

England White have been drawn in Group A alongside Italy and Germany Black while England Red are in Group B with Netherlands and Belgium.

Wales, Switzerland, and Portugal make up Group C while Group D contains Scotland, Germany White, and Spain.

All Group Stage games will be played on Friday 24 before the Quarter-Finals and Semi-Finals on Saturday 25 and the Final on Sunday 26.

In the men’s competition, British Lacrosse has entered a Great Britain team that will feature several English players; they will play in Group A against Netherlands, Spain, and Belgium.

Last year’s Euro Lax Sixes Cup saw a clean sweep for Great Britain as the GB Red and GB White teams won the respective women’s and men’s tournaments with an England U23 side finishing third in the women’s competition.

With the squads set to be announced in the coming weeks, there’s likely to be several players involved who will also feature at The Fly 2023.

The UK’s only six-a-side national lacrosse league, The Fly is back for its third year in 2023 across three weekends (14/21 May & 4 June) at Rosslyn Park RFC, London.
