England Lacrosse would like to share a message of support from the lacrosse community following a serious injury suffered by former England international, David Leach.
David unfortunately sustained a serious injury playing Box Lacrosse couple of weeks ago, since which time David has been looked after in hospital as he begins his recovery.
David is a prominent member of our lacrosse community, and has been a key figure in the growth of Box Lacrosse, including proudly representing England Box at the World Indoor Lacrosse Championship, totalling 15 goals in 11 caps in his playing career, while also previously representing Wales at the field game.
He is a hugely revered and well-loved member of our lacrosse community and we all share our sympathies for David at this difficult time.
We would like to pass on our full support and strength to David, his wife, and family, wishing him all the best on his continuing recovery.
SEMLA President, Rob Gooch, has also set up a form where personal messages of support can be sent to David and the family.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help raise funds for David to help cover his loss of earnings, ensuring the family can pay household bills, medical care, travel and transportation along with childcare costs to care for him.

Over the coming weeks, friend of David, Natalie Lawrence, will be completing a nine in nine challenge where she’ll be swimming nine kilometres, cycling 99 miles, and running nine miles to raise £2,000 to help towards David’s recovery.
The challenge is in honour of David’s England and Wales shirt number nine and you can read more about Natalie’s fundraiser and donate HERE.
