The England Senior Women’s international fixture against USA, scheduled for Wednesday 5 January, has been cancelled.
The Spring Premiere event, set to take place between 4-6 January in Auburndale, Fla., which included the match-up, was called off by USA Lacrosse over the weekend due to concerns related to COVID-19.
After consultation with the England players and staff, the decision was taken to continue to travel to Florida for a week-long training camp with all squad members completing the required testing for travel to the USA.
The tour will include a number of scheduled training sessions in addition to scrimmages with the Puerto Rico national team later in the week.
The tour will be a key week for National Team Director Phil Collier to assess his squad in the run-up to the 2022 Women’s World Championship in July including allowing US-based squad members to join the group for a full week of training.
We will continue to bring you updates from the Florida Tour across the England Lacrosse website and social media channels.
