England Lacrosse is pleased to announce the England Men’s squad selected for the first ever Home Nations 6s event.
A 12-player squad has been selected to compete in Edinburgh, Scotland against the host nation and Wales in an international competition on Saturday 28 August, played using the World Lacrosse Sixes rules for the first time.
The England squad features The Fly winning captain Alex Russell, plus Rise team mates Will Baxter, Michael Pomfret and Josh Simpson-Pink, all coming with good initial Sixes experience.
The squad will be led by England Senior Men’s Assistant Coach, Mike Bartlett and Under 21 Men’s Assistant, Vince Cara, who both gained Sixes coaching experience as Head Coaches at The Fly.
The Home Nations 6s features both a men’s and women’s competition across a single day packed full of action, with further informal scrimmages also taking place on the Sunday.
The England squad features a combination of players from both the Senior Men’s training squad and the Under 21 programme.
Spectators intending to attend should register HERE for free to guarantee entry.
The action is also being live streamed across Lax Sport Network laxsn.com and For the Fans ftflive.com/channels
World Lacrosse Sixes is a new, fast and exciting discipline that will be played at the 2022 World Games. Sixes uses a smaller field with fewer players, a condensed game length and a 30-second shot clock.
