The European Lacrosse Federation (ELF) has announced it will be hosting a very special event in early 2022, using the new and proposed Olympic six-a-side version of lacrosse.
The EuroLax Sixes Cup will welcome international teams from all over Europe to play in the “first ever international European-based sixes event for national teams.”
A statement, initially released by Portugal Lacrosse, said the event will take place on the 25, 26, and 27 February 2022 with Vila Real de Santo Antonio in Algarve acting as the inaugural host city.
The statement went on to say that all European national teams are welcome and to contact Portugal Lacrosse via email at info@portugal-lacrosse.pt should they want any more information.
The announcement of the EuroLax Sixes Cup comes after the successful launch, by England Lacrosse, of The Fly last year which welcomed the best athletes from the UK to compete against each other in a knockout tournament, playing the sixes format of the game.
