As part of this year’s annual Volunteers’ Week (1-7 June), England Lacrosse is inviting you to nominate a volunteer from the lacrosse community who has been especially exceptional over the past year since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
Throughout the week, we will be shining the spotlight on our wonderful volunteers and highlighting what a brilliant job they’ve done, and continue to do, keeping clubs and teams going throughout the most difficult of years.
The official theme for this year’s Volunteers’ Week will be “a time to say thanks” aimed at recognising the contribution of communities during the coronavirus pandemic.
During an exceptionally difficult year, people from all walks of life around the UK have taken the time to volunteer and made a huge difference to people and their communities – just as they do every year.
The Volunteers’ Week website says:
“We’d like to encourage you to take the time to recognise volunteers that helped during the last 12 months and to thank those who usually volunteer but have not been able to because of the pandemic.
“Volunteers are always active at the heart of every UK community and the coronavirus pandemic has rightly raised the profile of volunteering and more people than ever are aware of the immense contribution being made every single day by the UK’s volunteers.
“That is why, on this 37th annual #VolunteersWeek, it’s time to say: thank you volunteers!”
At England Lacrosse, we are well aware that the game we all love is only able to run and be played by so many people all over the country because of the hard-work, dedication, and devotion of the volunteers and, with your help, we want to show our appreciation during this year’s Volunteers’ Week!
