National Lacrosse Day 2024: Celebrating our History

England Lacrosse is excited for our upcoming National Lacrosse Day 2024 on Saturday 14 September as this year we look to ‘Celebrate our History’ by recognising the milestones, achievements and people that have shaped the sport in England to get us where we are today.

National Lacrosse Day is our annual opportunity to celebrate everything we love about the game and get the season going with a bang by coming together as one community to celebrate lacrosse and the sport we all enjoy so much.

With the sport at such a transformational point, with the beginning of a run up towards the 2028 Olympic Games and the sport’s monumental return to the greatest event on earth we’re encouraging everyone in lacrosse to celebrate their own history; whether that be your own club or personal Olympic connection, the founders of your club, or just the people who got you into the game!

We’ll be sharing some stories from across the sport of leading figures in our history and some of the interesting stories that have got the sport to where it is today. And we want to hear your personal stories too!

Of course, we also always love to see people out and about on National Lacrosse Day playing and supporting the game up and down the country - There are all sorts of pre-season events and tournaments taking place to get us all up to speed for another full season of acti

From field, to box, to sixes, to mixed, to clubs, to schools, to universities, to just having a throw-about in the park with your friends, everyone is welcome within the sport and should be able to discover the reasons why we love lacrosse!
