Three National Champions of England were crowned across a full day’s action at the National Club Finals on Sunday.
Oxford City Mixed, Hampstead Men, and Blues Women were all victorious on a big day of finals at Macclesfield Rugby Club.
Hampstead and Blues both retained their National Championship title in the men’s and women’s finals respectively to solidify their dominance at the top of the English game.
Hampstead and Heaton Mersey were locked in a tight battle early on before Hampstead’s strength in depth told out, with star man Owen Caputo tallying six goals to pull away from the opposition eventually winning 16-11.
Hampstead will now head to Spain as the English representative at the European Club Championship, hoping to go better than last year’s 3rd place finish.
It was Blues’ third consecutive victory, and a repeat of last year’s final in which they once again overcame Oxton, running out 19-5 winners.
Mimi Painting and Nina Sherwen led the way with four goals each while three other players netted hat-tricks in a dominant performance.
They will head to Barcelona also seeking a third straight European Club Championship and keep the silverware coming back to the London club.
Meanwhile, it was third time lucky for Oxford City in the Mixed Lacrosse final as they put the two previous final defeats in 2022 and 2023 behind them with a commanding 17-9 victory against London City Panthers.
