England Lacrosse is delighted to announce the 22-player squad selected for the 2024 ELF European Women’s Lacrosse Championship in Braga, Portugal.
England Women head to the tournament, taking place across 10-20 July, as the reigning champions after taking gold against Israel with a 10-7 victory in Netanya in 2019.
This year’s Championship also functions as the official European qualifying event for the 2026 Women’s World Championship in Japan as the world event moves to a new 16-team tournament format.
The 19-team Euros has also moved from squad sides of 18 up to 22, aligned with the changes also made at world level tournaments.
The England team includes nine bronze-medal winners from the 2022 World Championship and six gold-medal winners from the 2019 Euros squad looking to defend their title this summer.
Chloe Chan, Claire Faram, Emma Oakley and Liv Wimpenny will all represent their country at a third European Championship while Emily Gray will make a fourth Euros appearance.
Across the previous 11 stagings of the Championship, England have won gold seven times including the last three editions going back to 2012.
England also recently defeated three of their potential Euros opponents at the Home Internationals Series in Wales in April with strong wins against Scotland, Wales, and Czechia to take the competition.
