As another exciting lacrosse season is on the horizon, England Lacrosse would like to bring attention to the crucial matter of safeguarding and first aid and to the significance of ensuring compliance with coaching and officiating standards to maintain your full lacrosse coaching and/or officiating certification.
The well-being and safety of our players are of utmost importance, and as coaches and officials, it is your responsibility to create a safe and supportive environment for all participants. Coaching and officiating standards including safeguarding and first aid are in place to protect the welfare of individuals involved in lacrosse, particularly our young athletes.
To continue your journey as a certificated lacrosse coach and/or official, it is essential that you maintain compliance with the coaching and/or officiating requirements. Specifically, these requirements are:
• DBS check - https://www.englandlacrosse.co.uk/adults-at-risk
• Safeguarding training - https://www.englandlacrosse.co.uk/safeguarding-standards
• First Aid certificate - https://www.englandlacrosse.co.uk/first-aid
By adhering to these standards, we demonstrate our commitment to providing a safe and nurturing environment that fosters the development of our players both on and off the field. It is also important that our coaches and officials are protected through our coaching and officiating insurance which requires your certificate to be up to date.
Please note, if any qualification is listed as “Suspended” on our Sport:80 database, your England Lacrosse insurance cover is NOT VALID and you are not able to coach or officiate. Please use the blue “+ Add qualification” button to upload the required documents and, if correct, your certification will be approved and made valid.
If you have any questions or require support, either as a school, university, club or as an individual coach and/or official in understanding or implementing these coaching and officiating standards, please do not hesitate to contact us as we have help available from staff and volunteers at regional level and through the National Lacrosse Committee.
