England Lacrosse is delighted to announce the appointment of Vicky Lowe as our new Independent Board Chair.
Vicky is currently Global Development Director at Laureus Sport for Good, a worldwide charitable organisation using sport to help children and young people overcome discrimination and disadvantage in their lives.
She brings over 15 years’ experience in managing and leading boards and governance committees across charities, sports federations and clubs and has recently completed a post as Executive Director of the newly formed Commonwealth Sports Foundation.
Recreationally, Vicky is also an active sportswoman, first as a former lacrosse player at St Albans School then rugby player, and now takes part in triathlon, golf and running.
Following an extensive recruitment search, aided by specialist executive search firm Hartmann Mason, Vicky was shortlisted for the position and emerged as the standout candidate during the interview process.
Vicky takes over from Hannah Bowe, who joined the Board in 2017 before becoming England Lacrosse’s first independent female Board Chair in 2019.
England Lacrosse would like to sincerely thank Hannah for all her work as Board Chair over the last four years and is pleased that she will continue to contribute to the organisation again as a Board member.
Mark Coups, Chief Executive Officer, said: “I am delighted to be able to welcome Vicky Lowe to the England Lacrosse family as our new Independent Board Chair.
“She brings a huge wealth of knowledge from across the governance sector in addition to a strong sporting background, and her leadership qualities will be a positive for both the Board and the wider organisation.
“Her appointment solidifies the strength of our governance structures and I look forward to working closely with Vicky going forward at an exciting time for the sport.
“I would also like to thank Hartmann Mason for their assistance in our search for a new Chair and ultimately finding a candidate of the calibre of Vicky who can continue to drive the organisation forward following Hannah’s successful time in post.”
On her appointment, Vicky said: “Lacrosse was my first sporting love; I played throughout my teens both in England and the USA and I’m delighted to be back working within a sport that has given me so much.”
