England Lacrosse would like to welcome Hannah Royer to the organisation as our new Part-Time Content Creator.
Hannah will lead on content planning and creation for England Lacrosse projects helping to promote the sport across our varied audiences as well as providing coverage and content from events across the country.
She will also continue to develop England Lacrosse’s digital offering across web and social media ensuring our content is relevant, representative and inspiring and continues to promote the best of our sport to both existing and new audiences.
Hannah first started playing lacrosse in 2013, learning the game at Loughborough during her studies at the university.
After graduating she moved to London, playing for a number of teams across the city before settling at Spencer LC in 2021 and can currently be found in attack for the Women’s 1st team.
While it hasn’t always been lacrosse for Hannah, the sport is now a central part of her life and it seems that it has been for others in the family as well.
She said: “Team sports have always been a part of my life, but my sport at school was hockey. I hadn’t heard of lacrosse until my friend asked me to try it with him at uni, and I then came to find out that my Aunt used to play for England… Maybe it was meant to be!”
“I love the physicality and speed that lacrosse offers, and the skill - for me especially in the women’s rules’ game - is so satisfying to watch.
Hannah’s background is in digital media and advertising. She has worked for magazines such as HELLO!, Cosmo, Women’s Health, ELLE and when she’s not working at England Lacrosse, she’s working with an ad tech company on social display advertising for brands like Amazon and Spotify.
Hannah has already been working with England Lacrosse on a freelance basis, assisting on projects and events such as The Fly and Summer Lax and will continue that role along with lots of other projects as the new 2022/23 season gets underway.
She said: “It’s been a great experience working with the England Lacrosse Comms team over the past 18 months on a freelance basis, so it was a no-brainer to apply for this role and interview to become a permanent member of the team.
“The Fly has been awesome to work on. I’ve met some fantastic players and had the chance to interview people I’ve watched at big events like the World Cup and the team behind the event have been amazing to work with.”
“There’s some big plans in place for EL and I’m so excited to be a part of the growth of the game not only here in the UK, but also worldwide as we work towards Lacrosse being included in the LA 2028 Olympic Games.”
Hannah will always be on the look out for interesting stories that promote our sport and able to assist clubs and organisations with upcoming events. She can be contacted at h.royer@englandlacrosse.co.uk
We hope you will join us in welcoming Hannah to the organisation!
