Border City Lacrosse Club, based in Cumbria, are set to host ‘The Borders 8s’ this September as part of a drive to provide more high level lacrosse competition in the north of England.
Taking place on Saturday 11 September 2021, the tournament is hoping to attract senior men’s teams from across England and Scotland.
Carlisle’s first lacrosse club, Border City, was founded in 2019 and has grown from humble beginnings to where it is today, supporting a men’s, a women’s, and a junior team.
The club was set up by a group of ex-players who became frustrated by the lack of opportunities to play lacrosse in Carlisle and across Cumbria more generally.
It is currently led by ex-Heaton Mersey player and former England international Mike Orme with fellow coach, Dan Clements.
The Borders 8s will take place at the brand spanking new home of Border City Lacrosse Club at Cotehill Park, Brampton, Cumbria CA8 2AP.
The cost of entry for each team is £75 which will aid in club development at Border City and teams can secure their place at this exciting day of lacrosse by emailing their interest at cumbrialax@gmail.com or by messaging Border City on social media (Facebook or Instagram).
