British Lacrosse is seeking expressions of interest from players interested in competing on the Men’s British Lacrosse team at The World Games 2022 in Birmingham, Alabama.

Men’s Head Coach, Tom Wenham, has outlined the Men’s British Lacrosse schedule leading up to the 2022 World Games and has opened expressions of interest to all eligible players looking to be considered for the squad.

The Men's British Lacrosse Team will play in The World Games 2022 in Birmingham, Alabama from 7-11 July, with the event using the new World Lacrosse Sixes format in a major world tournament for the first time.

With World Lacrosse having recently received full recognition from the IOC, The World Games will be the first chance to showcase Sixes in an IOC recognised event in the quest to return lacrosse to the Olympics in Los Angeles in 2028.

Players interested in being selected should apply by completing the expression of interest form below. Once applications have closed, selected players will be invited to an initial assessment day on Sunday 26 September.

Proposed training dates for the Men's British Lacrosse Team are as follows:

26 September (Invitational assessment day)
17 October - Training session 1
7 November - Training session 2
21 November - Training session 3
5 December - Training session 4
16 January - Training session 5
30 January - Training session 6 (TWG2022 squad to be selected after this date)
13 February - Training session 7
27 February - Training session 8
13 March - Training session 9
3 April - Training session 10
8 or 15 May - Training session 11 (TBC)
12 June - Training session 12
17 - 19 June - Residential

(Please note that all these dates are provisional and are subject to change and that there may also be additional dates added).

It is also anticipated that there will be an acclimatisation camp in the USA immediately prior to TWG2022.

As men's lacrosse is a demonstration sport (rather than being on the official programme like the women), all costs will need to be covered by the players. It is currently anticipated that this will be subsidised through fundraising and commercial partnerships.

The British Lacrosse board and staff are committed to working towards realistic player contributions, but it is too early to provide an indicative figure at this stage.

Applications close on 3 September, with invitations to the Invitational Assessment day being sent out w/c 13 September.
