England Men’s Under 19s travel to Prague on Friday ready to do battle with the rest of Europe at the 2019 Under 20 European Lacrosse Championship.
The 23-player squad will face historic rivals Germany, Wales and youth newcomers, Latvia in the Pool Stages of the inaugural European age group tournament before looking to advance to the knockouts.
England go into the tournament as the highest ranked European team at youth level after a fifth place finish at the 2016 U19 Worlds and will be hoping to emulate the performance of the women’s side who won their first U20 Euros last year in Poland.
The tournament is taking place in Prague at the SK Aritma Praha Club, the venue of the well-known annual Prague Cup tournament.
The squad has been selected from the wider Under 19 Training squad working towards next year’s Under 19 World Championships in Limerick, Ireland and the tournament will act as the perfect preparations a year out from the Worlds.
